RULES
· We will play regular basketball!
· Pressing is allowed, unless a team is up by 20 points. We want to teach kids how to play, but not embarrass teams with players less skilled.
· Zone and Man defense are allowed
· Stats will be kept, so Coaches are expected to have the book/roster filled out by 5 min left before game time.
· Players are allowed 6 fouls before they foul out.
· Other than the rule above, we will play by Middle School rules.
· Younger teams will be allowed room to do more teaching (K-3rd Grade). Older groups will be held closer to the rules.
· If a game goes into overtime, both teams will pick 5 “eligible” players to shoot free throws to see who wins. The team that hits the most free throws out of 5 is the winner. If you tie after 5 shots, the teams will continue with the remaining players until a winner is determined.
COVID PRECAUTIONS
· Masks are MANDATORY!
· Anytime players are entering and leaving gyms they should be wearing a mask. Refusal to do so will result in your team being removed from the schedule.
· Coaches can remove masks during the game ONLY. They must abide by the same procedures as the players.
· Fans must wear masks at all times! This will be strictly enforced. If you refuse to wear a mask you will not be permitted in the gym. We will not argue with anyone in regards to this.
· If a Player/Coach has been asked to quarantine by the local Health Department, they may not participate in the league until their quarantine has been lifted.
SPECTATOR INFO
We can only have a limited amount of fans in the gym, so we are limiting spectators to TWO adults per participant. We do not have any limitations on the amounts of children you can bring with you. There is a $2 fee for adults only to attend the games.
We will have designated seating for each teams spectators. The Home team (team listed first on the schedule) will be seated in the bleachers closest to the entrance and the Away team (team listed second on the schedule) will be seated on the bleachers closest to the exit. Seating areas will be marked. The middle row of bleachers will be blocked off so that we can film the games.
Please make sure to practice social distancing as best as you can!
ENTRANCE/EXIT
Please enter the gym through the front door and always exit the gym using the side door under the scoreboard. We want to maintain separate entrances/exits.
DO NOT enter the gym while other teams are playing. Please wait in your cars or outside the gym entrance. Once the preceding game is over and everyone clears the gym, we will then let the next teams & families come in.
Please use N. Lucas street to enter the gym and exit the gym going straight on W. Meigs Lane to Russell Street. This will hopefully keep people from running into each other on N. Lucas Street.
PARKING
Please do not block the drive coming into the gym or the back access to the gym (do not park to the Right of the trash dump). If the lot is full, please park at Junction City Elementary School, you can walk directly behind the playground at the school and there is a gate access to the gym parking lot.

PARENT PLEDGE
We want this to be a fun environment for the NYBL participants in which they can learn and grow as basketball players. For many of these kids, this will be the first organized sport they have participated in in over a year. We ask that as adults, you give as much positive reinforcement to your kids before/during/after the games as possible. We do NOT want this to be a league where parents yell at the Coaches/Players/Refs and it will NOT be tolerated. If this does occur, we will kindly escort the problem out of the gym. At the end of the day, the kids just want to play ball and have fun so please make sure that you are contributing positively to their experience.
